It’s no secret that the world of business is changing. Gone are days when managers were in charge, and CEOs led their companies with an iron fist. Nowadays, every company has a different management structure in place to facilitate growth and increase profits. We’re going to take a look at three types of leaders you might find in today’s businesses.

Authoritative Leaders

Authoritative leaders are the traditional type you might be familiar with. The authoritative leader is strict, direct, and assertive. They demand respect from their employees at all times, and they expect to be obeyed without argument or question.

An example of an authoritative leader would be Gordon Ramsay. He’s known for his tough-love approach in helping chefs become better. His approach is authoritative in that he will not accept anything less than excellence.

Democratic Leaders

Democratic leaders are the new breed of management structure. They feel that their subordinates should have some say in how decisions are made for the company’s greater good. Everything needs to be discussed, and there needs to be a unanimous decision reached among the group.

An example of a democratic leader would be Bill Gates. He’s known for discussing everything with his employees and considering their input before making a final decision.

Delegative Leaders

Unlike the other two types of leaders, delegation leaders give up some of their power to their subordinates. They are less concerned with being the sole decision-maker, and they are more focused on getting everyone on board with a plan or idea so that they can see it through together.

An example of a delegation leader would be Steve Jobs. He is known for delegating his work to employees he trusts. He has built up such a strong team that they are able to achieve great things together.

Conclusion

As you can see, these leaders all have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. It’s important for today’s businesses to be open-minded about how they structure their companies to adapt to the changing world of business.

It’s important that businesses adapt in order to excel in the present world. While some of these leaders are better than others, it is undeniable that they all have their own unique strengths and weaknesses.
